A. Lee Parsons has been elected pres
ident and managing director of USA-
TEX. Mr. Parsons, director of foreign
operations for ATMI, is already in Eu
rope and will begin immediately to es
tablish an overseas headquarters in
London.
The chairman of USA-TEX, John S.
Thompson, president of Crompton Rich
mond Co., Inc., said in New York that
USA-TEX was formed because of “the

A realignment of executive responsi
bilities at the corporate headquarters of
Fieldcrest Mills, Inc. has been announc
ed by William C. Battle, president.
These realignments of responsibilities
are being made to strengthen the or
ganization and to better coordinate the
activities of the manufacturing and
staff units involved.
R. A. Harris, senior vice president,
was given additional responsibilities.
H. H. Lea, vice president-purchasing,
and H. H. Newton, vice president-indus
trial relations, who formerly reported
to Mr. Battle, will report to Mr. Harris.
W. B. Lucas, secretary and general
counsel, will report to Mr. Harris on
matters other than those involving his
duties as secretary of Fieldcrest Mills
on which he reports to Mr. Battle. L. H.
Hance, vice president-research and en
gineering, continues to report to Mr.
Harris.
A. L. Jackson, previously vice presi
dent-domestics manufacturing, was ap
pointed vice president-manufacturing,
with responsibility for all manufactur
ing, reporting to Mr. Harris.
J. P. Kitchens, previously division
vice president and general manager-
Karastan rug manufacturing, was ap
pointed division vice president-rug and
carpet manufacturing, reporting to Mr.

For Scholarships
Forms are available now for
students who wish to apply for a
Fieldcrest Scholarship or a Mus
cogee Scholarship. All applications
must be submitted by March 1 in
order for the student to be con
sidered for a scholarship.
Those who wish to apply for a
scholarship should obtain a form
from their area personnel man
ager or mill personnel office; or
call at the Employment Office of
Fieldcrest Mills, Inc., in the Gen
eral Offices building, Eden; or
