Baggett Is Certified
Safety Professional
Kenneth R. Baggett, director of safety
and workmen’s compensation at Field-
crest Mills, on February 25 became one
of North Carolina’s first certified safety
professionals (CSP).
The requirements for the title of CSP
are: a bachelor’s degree in engineering,
science or other curriculum acceptable
to the Board of Certified Safety Pro
fessionals; five years or more of pro
fessional safety experience in a posi
tion of responsibility; and successful
completion of an examination given by
the Board or an additional five or more
years of professional safety experience.
As a certified safety professional Mr.
Baggett assumes a responsibility to the
safety profession to maintain profession
al integrity reflecting the highest stand
ards of ethics and to insure professional
competence by keeping abreast of tech
nical, administrative and regulatory de
velopments in his field.
Mr. Baggett was employed by Field-
crest in January 1965 as director of
safety. He was given the additional re
sponsibility of director of workmen’s
