Dean Clark, Laurelcrest sewing machine operator and ScotJand High School Artist of the Month, is shown with pastels and sculpture from one-man show. Dean Clark, a sewing machine oper ator at the Laurelcrest Service Center, was named February Artist of the Month for Scotland High School. Mr. Clark, 18, is a senior at the high school and works on the second shift at the service center. He is son of Mr. and Mrs. Fairley Clark, Laurel Hill. His work in sculpture and pastels was featured in a one-man show at the Scotland High School (SHS) library. He was selected Artist of the Month by members of the SHS Art Club. A recent honorable mention winner in the 1972 Scholastic Art Awards Pro gram in Raleigh. Mr. Clark hopes to continue his studies in art and event ually to pursue a career in that field. He has had two years of art study Smith Children ins Honors As Artist under Jane Stogner at Scotland High and earlier received training under Vir ginia Muse at Laurel Hill School. His work has also been submitted in the Fine Arts Festival sponsored by the Laurinburg Woman’s Club and Junior Woman’s Club. Gary Ann Shropshire Gary Ann Shrop shire, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Shropshire, celebrat ed her 11th birthday February 16. Her mother (Pat) is em ployed in the Pack aging Department at the Bedspread Fin ishing Mill. Corvette Club Plans Autocross March 26 The Martinsville Corvette Club 'wiU sponsor an autocross Sunday, March in the FBC Store parking lot on By-Pass across from Nestor’s Chevro let in Reidsville.
