This figure was given final approval by the United Fund budget committee Monday night, August 21. It is $4,000 less than the 1972 goal, but more than the $130,503 raised a year ago. Employees of Fieldcrest Mills, Inc. contributed $90,011 in last year’s cam paign. The Company, through the Field- crest Foundation, gave an additional $9,000. Robert L. Moore, a regional person nel manager at Fieldcrest, is vice pres ident of the United Fund and this year’s general campaign chairman. Camille F. Perkins, associate editor of The Mill Whistle, is publicity chairman. At the August 21 meeting, Mr. Moore announced other appointments in the campaign organization as follows: Mrs. Bobby Brooks, executive secretary; Dick Tucker, of Anaconda, industrial chairman; Jimmy Wright, of NCNB, general solicitations chairman; and Jess Burchell, of Wall Insurance Agency, special solicitations chairman. Em ployees and retirees who wish to join one of the morning league teams are requested to contact Owen Freeman at the Eden Bowling Center, telephone number 623-8281. Fieldcrest’s Fall ’72 Collections Have Strong Appeal (Continued from Page One) Columbia Pictures’ new film “Living Free”, Fieldcrest is marketing a col lection of the same name featuring Elsa and her three lion cubs as depicted in the film. The bedspreads, sheets, towels and rug are charming interpretations of the cubs in natural settings of Kenya. With a safari-like theme, the sheet is a mural treatment of the Serengeti Plain of Tanganyika where Elsa’s cubs are allowed to live free. With inspiration from three corners of the world, Finland, France and Af rica, the new Fieldcrest Fall collections are truly an international design state ment. United Fund officers are Lyman Col lins; president; Rex Rouse, treasurer; and Richard Robertson, secretary. The kickoff luncheon for this year’s campaign will be held on September 25. Plans now call for an October 18 campaign deadline. One new agency, the 4-H Club Coun ty Council, has been included in the Eden United Fund this year. Other agencies supported by the Fund are the Eden Child Development Center, Boys’ Club, Boy Scouts, YMCA, Girl Scouts, American Red Cross, Res cue Squad, Retarded Children, Salva tion Army, and Carolinas United.
