HEALY Sales Trainee Group Tours Mills At Eden Six sales trainees from the Fieldcrest Marketing Division, New York, visited Eden October lO-October 12 as part of their orientation. Visiting the mills and offices in the Eden area were Glenn M. Alexander, William,’ R. Atkins, William B. Boettger, Thomas M. Healy, Thomas V. Lester and Leslie J. Peterson. The group toured Research and Quality Control, Fieldale Towel Mill, Blanket Greige, Sheeting Mill, Blanket Finishing, Blanket Warehouse and Sheet Finishing. Also Bedspread Finishing, Bedspread Mill, Karastan Rug Mill and Foremost Screen Print. Packaging And Shipping Wins Attendance Contest The first shift Packaging and Ship ping Department at the Bedspread Fin ishing Mill won the September attend ance contest with 1.97 percent absen teeism. This is the best record achieved since the contest began in April to emphasize the importance of being on the job every scheduled working day. ‘ During September, four other Bed- Spread Finishing departments had less than 3 percent absenteeism. They were the first shift Colonial Sowing, second shift Colonial Sewing, first shift Drape and second shift Drape. lOOfo Departments To Receive Certificates Each of the following mill and staff units at Fieldcrest Mills is to receive a Certificate of Merit from the Eden United Fund in recognition of 100% Fair Share contributions by the em ployees. Six Educational Grants Made By Foundation (Continued from Page Three) Sara Lou Murphy is a 1972 graduate of Morehead High School and is attend ing Rockingham Community College. She is majoring in social services. Her parents are Mr. and Mrs. James Clay ton Murphy. Mr. Murphy is a card fixer in the Wool Carding Department at the Blanket Greige Mill. Deborah Anne Robertson graduated from Morehead High School and attend ed East Carolina University for one year. She is attending Rockingham Community College where she is en rolled in the college parallel curricu lum. She hopes to teach at a communi ty college. Her father, C. D. Robertson, is a mechanic in the Mechanical Devel opment Department and her mother (Dorothy) is a technician in the Physi cal Testing Laboratory. Susan F. Stevens completed two years at Rockingham Community College and is a junior at Elon College. She is ma joring in elementary education. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gorman Stevens. Her father is a loom fixer at the Blanket Greige Mill. Robert Lee Willis, a 1972 Morehead High School graduate, is attending Rockingham Community College where he is enrolled in a one-year course in basic electronics. He plans to pursue a career in that field. His parents are Mr. and Mrs. Kermit Willis. His father is a scheduler at the Blanket Warehouse.
