Owen, formerly plant man ager, has been promoted to general man ager of the Laurelcrest Carpet Mill at Laurel Hill. He reports to J. P. Kitch ens, division vice president-rug and car pet manufacturing. In another organization change at Fieldcrest Mills’ Laurel Hill operations Luby M. Skinner was appointed plant manager of the Laurelcrest Yarn Mill. He reports to J. Melvin Moore, division vice president and general manager- carpet yarn manufacturing. Mr. Owen has been with Fieldcrest Mills since February, 1970, when he joined the company as plant manager of the Laurelcrest Carpet Mill. He is a native of Newnan, Ga., but grew up in LaGrange. He is a graduate of the University of Georgia with a bachelor of business administration degree with a major in accounting. He joined the Callaway Mills Co. im mediately after his graduation in 1966 and was assigned to the Calumet Mill in LaGrange. He worked as cost ac countant, operation research analyst, assistant superintendent and was super intendent for one and one-half years immediately before joining Fieldcrest. Mr. Skinner before his latest promo tion was plant manager of the Kara- stan Spinning Mill at Greenville.
