Scottsboro Employees Enjoy Safety Barbee
Employees at the Scottsboro
Hug Mill, Scottsboro, Ala.,
enjoyed a safety barbecue at the
mill on Si'ptember 21 in honor of
completing 1,250,160 hours
without a lost-time accident.
The 265 employees had
achieved 7,001 accident-free
hours per employee through the
month of August, 1973.
No lost-time accidents have
occurred at Scottsboro since the
present record-keeping began on
January 1, 1970.
Under the terms of the safety
award barbecue contest which
began in 1957, any mill is entitled
to a barbecue when emplovees
have achieved 2,000 man-hours
per employee without a lost-time
accident.
