The employees had achieved through the month of Sep tember, 2,108 average hours per employee and a total of 263,519 man-hours without a lost time accident. G. Newell, plant manager. OSCAR 0. TUCKER Four promotions have been announced in the Karastan Rug manufacturing operation, ef fective recently. Oscar 0. Tucker has been named a shift foreman in the Dyeing Department. Stephen P. Bundy has been named a shift foreman in the Winding and Beaming Department and F. Watson Gunter has been named a shift foreman in the Weaving Department. William J. Pruitt has been named a shift foreman at the Karastan Service Center. Mr. Tucker has been em ployed by Fieldcrest since 1955 when he began as a skein hanger at the Karastan Mill. He worked briefly as a shipping trucker at the Blanket Warehouse during 1957. At the Karastan Mill, he worked as a dyer loader, dyestuff weigher and technician before his recent promotion. Golf Champion Gray Hundley, Karastan Plant Services, holds the Lynrock Golf Club championship trophy which he won on November 4. Mr. Hundley defeated Willie Talbott in the championship flight 3 and 2. Holding a 2-hole advantage after the first 18 holes, Mr. Hundley then fought off a strong surge by Mr. Talbott on the 16th hole of the playoff, thereby taking the championship.
