Long-Service Employees Hear
Crumley at 25-Year Club Meet

W. F. Crumley, division vice
president-sheet manufacturing,
was the main speaker at the
annual luncheon of the 25-Year
Club in the Sheet Operation,
General Ofices and Specials
Department. The event was held
Saturday morning, October 4, at
the Draper Park.
Mr. Crumley congratulated
the long-service employees and
expressed appreciation for their
faithfulness and dependability.
He described designs inspired
by the Bicentennial and showed
examples of the sheets in the
American Treasures and Nation
of Nations Collections.
He reviewed operating
schedules and discussed the
business outlook in the Sheet
Operation. “Based on today’s
situation, I am optimistic about
the future in our end of the
business,” he said.
K. M. Vaughn, plant manager
of the Sheet Finishing Mill,
conducted the drawings for
attendance prizes. Beavy F.
Roop of the the General Offices,
won a Meisen Rose sheet set and
Elsie M. Harpe of the Sheet
Finishing Mill received a Rose
Vine sheet set.
Every long-service employee
attending was presented with a
special souvenir pillow case on
which was printed a design and
the words “25 Years of Service”.
R. C. Going, plant manager of
the Draper Sheeting Mill, was
the master of ceremonies and
recognized the new members.

25-Yr. Meetings Announced
Long-service employees in the
Bedspread and Karastan
Operations will be honored at 25-
Year Club luncheons to be
served in the mills at noon
Thursday, November 6.
The luncheon for members in
the Bedspread Mill and
Bedspread Finishing Mill will be
served in the Inspecting
Department at the Bedspread
Mill. The luncheon for the
Karastan members will be in the
Winding Department at the
Karastan Rug Mill.
The Bedspread Operation has
a total of 226 members, including
80 active and 108 retired in the
Bedspread Mill and 27 active
and 11 retired in the Bedspread
Finishing Mill.
Included are five 50-year em
ployees: Bradley C. Murray,
John T. Tolbert, Eunice V.
Buckner, James H. Gallimore
and Bunyan L. Thompson.
Karastan has a total of 270
members in the 25-Year Club. Of
this number, 146 are active and
124 are retired. Included is one
50-year employee, Hugh T. Lee.
New members to be welcomed
into the club at Karastan are:
Herbert Branch, Lee Roy Grant,
Gordon Overby, Christine M.
Spencer and Larry R. Stone.
The 25-Year Club meeting for
members in the Blanket Opera
tion has been set for 11 a.m.
Saturday, November 22, in the
Draper Elementary School
cafeteria. Further information
on the meeting will be an
nounced after arrangements
have been completed.
