Lejeanna Hammond, daugh ter of Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Hammond, will be a freshman at Pembroke State University where she will major in mathematics. Her father is a mechanic at the Laurelcrest Yarn Mill. Cathy Ann Harris is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Clay Harris. Her mother, Edna, is a burler at the Karastan Rug Mill. Cathy will be a sophomore at Wake Forest University where she plans to work toward a B.S. degree. Sharon Montice Holt is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James M. Holt, Sr. Her father is a carpenter at the North Carolina Finishing Company. She will be a freshman at Livingstone College where she plans to major in business administra tion. Tami Ann Hopkins, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Norman L. Hop kins, will be a freshman at Appalachian State University where she plans to major in psy chology. Her father is a mechanic at the Karastan Rug Mill. Stephen J. Hurd is the son of Mr. and Mrs. James E. Hurd. His mother, Virginia, is a book keeper in the Accounting Department. Stephen will enter Appalachian State University as a junior, having transferred from Rockingham Community College. He will major in political science. Curtis J. Jones, Jr., is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Curtis J. Jones, Sr. His father is a shift foreman at the Fieldale Towel Mill. His mother, Betty, is a set packer also at the Fieldale Towel Mill. Curtis will be a freshman at Virginia Western Community College where he will study electronic engineering. Deborah Susan Jones is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred S. Chilton. Her mother, Nancy Harbour Chilton, is a buckram sewer at the Bedspread P'inishing Mill. Deborah plans to enter Hardbarger Business College where she will study either fashion merchandising or business administration. Ruth Luellen Lee is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Herbert R. Lee. She will attend Appalachian State University and major in special education. Her mother, Annie Ruth, is a binder at the Automatic Blanket Plant. Ricky D. Lomax is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Spencer A. Lomax. He will attend Gardner-Webb College and plans to major in either music or physical education. His father is a shift foreman at the North Carolina Finishing Company. Barry L. Martin is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Wesley F. Martin. He will be a junior at Longwood College and will major in sociology and Spanish. His father is a towel cutter at the Fieldale Towel Mill. Michael McCrickard is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Sam H. McCrickard, Sr. He will attend Nashville Auto-Diesel College and study auto-diesel mechanics and welding. His father has been an over-the-road truck driver for Fieldcrest for over 20 years. Beverly Jean Millner is the daughter of Mrs. Irene Millner, a winder operator-Belmont at the Karastan Rug Mill. Beverly plans to attend A & T State University, Winston-Salem State University or the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She has not decided upon her major. LuAnn Morrison is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Morrison. She plans to attend Milligan College and will study to become a teacher. Her father is a scheduling expediter at the Blanket Finishing Mill and her mother, Patricia Ann, a burling inspector at the Karastan Rug Mill. Benjamin H. Mullins is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin H. Mullins, Sr. He plans to attend the University of Maryland Eastern Shore and major in industrial arts. His father is a mail man-office janitor at the Fieldale Towel Mill. Myra Yvonne Nunnally is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Nunnally. She will attend Winston-Salem State University and major in business education. Her father is a Clark truck operator at the Blanket Finishing Mill. Cyd Chrysse Overby is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jasper S. Overby. She has been accepted at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington and will study marine biology. Her father is now retired as a head supply clerk at the Karastan Rug Milt. Randy N. Page is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Harold D. Smith. He will enroll at Gardner-Webb College and major in physical education and sociology. His father is a tie-in operator at the Alexander Sheeting Mill. Bryan S. Parker is the son of Mrs. Ned I. Parker and the late Mr. Parker, who was a mechanic with '22 years of service at the North Carolina Finishing Company at the time of his death. Bryan will be a freshman at North Carolina State University and will major in engineering. Dorothea Penn is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James M. Penn. Retiree Makes Ensemble B) Quilting Design On Sheets A retired employee of the Fieldale Towel Mill has taken one of Fieldcrest’s beautiful designs from the American Treasures Collection and made it even more beautiful. Belle B. Turner, who retired from the Sewing Department in 1%2, has taken the Aimee’s Patchwork sheet, quilted each individual part of the design, and created a beautiful comforter. She also quilted matching piU®^ shams which with the matchi® sheets and dust ruffle make > lovely ensemble. Mrs. Turner, who made 1*' items for her son and daughtet_ in-law, says she liked the desif and just decided to try to quilt ih She began the project February and completed it 'J early July. “I enjoyed workj™ on it more than anything I'' ever done,” she said.
