They are Gladys Tucker Fagge and Pauline C. Stultz, both of the Burling Department. Two additional employees were honored on completion of 40 years of continuous service. They are Nelson A. Collins, Blanket Greige Mill; and George R. Dillard. Blanket Finishing Mill. Each long-service employee has received the appropriate Fieldcrest service emblem, a gift certificate for company merchandise equal in dollar amounts to the years of service, and a letter of commendation from William C. Battle, presi dent of Fieldcrest Mills, Inc. Gladys Fagge began continu ous service on October 23, 1931, as a burler at the Karastan Rug Mill and has remained in that classification for all of her 45 37 Years At Scottsboro Ophelia C. Wallingsford retired from the Scottsboro Rug Mill on October 1 with seven years of continuous service with Fieldcrest. She began work at that location, however, in 1939 when the plant was owned by the Maples Company and has worked there continuously since that time. Scholarship Recipient The son of a Foremost em ployee has been selected to receive a $540 scholarship for the 1976-77 academic- year at Barber-Scotia College, Concord. Patrick O’Neal Fulp, a senior majoring in early childhood education, is the son of Mrs. Barbara J. Fulp who is em ployed in the Yard Goods Department at Foremost. He was selected by the North Carollina Association of Class room Teachers to receive the Mary Morrow Scholarship award of $540. The award is given to five outstanding rising seniors in North Carolina on the basis of character, personality, scholas tic achievement, promise as a successful classroom teacher and financial need. Pauline Stultz, a mender in the Burling Department at Karastan, began continuous service on October 28,1931, as a burler. She later worked as a carver and yarn sewer before becoming a mender in 1955. Nelson Collins, head mainten ance inspector in Weave Room at the Blanket Griege Mill, began continuous service on October 20, 1936, as a quill col lector, remaining in the Weaving Department for all of his 40 years, he also worked as a filling carrier, breakdown man, loom fixer, loom fixer instructor, and fixer reclaimer before becoming head maintenance inspector in 1971.
