I i ■/ Promotions Are Announced Three promotions at the Karastan Service Center have been announced, effective March 1. Harold Mabe, formerly cash sales supervisor, was appointed shift supervisor at the Karastan Service Center, replacing James Walsh who resigned. James H. (Jimmy) Grogan was named cash sales supervisor succeeding Mr. Mabe. Mr. Grogan formerly was claims supervisor in the Karastan Sales Service Department. Sue Strong was appointed claims supervisor secceeding Mr. Grogan. She previously was a telephone correspondent. Mr. Mabe has been with the company since 1966 and has held various clerical and supervisory positions at the Karastan Service Center. Mr. Grogan has continuous service since he joined Karastan in 1969. He was a telephone correspondent before becoming claims supervisor. Mrs. Strong has continuous service since 1960 and has held a number of position in the Sales Service Department. She earlier had worked as a setter at the Karastan Rug Mill. HAROLD MABE JIMMY GROGAN SUE STRONG New Shift Foreman Evelyn B. Henderson has joined Fieldcrest Mills, Inc. as a shift supervisor in the Quilling and Slashing Department at the Bedspread Mill. She has had previous textile experience with several companies as a production worker, laboratory analyst and supervisor. Safety Barbecue At Phenix City Employees at the Phenix City Plant were treated to a safety barbecue in honor of their completing an average of 4,109 hours per employee without a lia'' lost time injury. The Phenix City employees achieved a total of 1,549,614 safe hours. Joins Medicai Staff At Eden Cassandra W. High, R. N., has joined the Fieldcrest Central Medical Department as a staff nurse. She is a graduate of the Watts Hospital School of Nursing, Durham, and was previously employed as an operating room nurse at North Carolina Memorial Hospital in Chapel Hill.
