Logan Page Lancaster ■ POUNDERS’ DAY Thanksgiving Banquet Thanksgiving was observed with much formality at a banquet at Assembly Inn, November 24. The spacious dining room was attrac tively and appropriately deco rated for the occasion.Pounders’ Day was the main theme of the evening. Dr, Caldwell opened the program with prayer, after which everyone sang America the Beauti ful. Dr. Campbell, who has been the Chairman of the Board, of Trus tees since 1916, acted as toast master. The Welcome was extend ed by Sara Drew, president of the Student Body, and was respond ed to by Cornelia Brov;h,president of the Alumnae Association. Alum nae, representing the c].asses .from 1916-1939, spoke briefly of the outstanding events during their years here and of their appreciation of the school and its founders.A Tribute to Founders Virus, paid by Dr. Spencer. Dr.Ander son gave a most interesting talk on Thanksgiving. The, great occa sion was ended by singing the Alma Mater. We were honored to have as our guests Dr. R.P. Campbell. Dr.and Mrs. S,Grier Davis, Asheville;Dr. and Mrs. J. D. Reynolds, Dr. and Mrs. R. C. Anderson, Mr. and Mrs. Crosby Adams, Dr.and Mrs, I. J. Archer, Dr. and-Mrs., J. W. Caldwell, Montreat.
