Is Montreal College a better school
because you have been here this fall.'
It is so easy to say that the teachers
are “lousy”, that the other girls are
“drips”, that there are no boys around;
but do you ever stop to ask yourself
what you have contributed to the col
lege?
Have you been the one to dampen
the spirit of the college. ? Do you
speak crossly to your roommate before
breakfast in the morning? Do you
rush out the doors before faculty mem
bers? Do you look down your nose at
your suitemates? Do you write letters
instead of studying? Do you gripe
when someone asks you to be on a
program? Do you gossip about your
classmates? If you answer these ques
tions in the affirmative, then your con
tributions have helped to make Mon
treat College a very undesirable place
in which to live.
If Montreat College is better now in
December 1943 than it was in Septem
ber 1943 it is largely due to your
worthwhile contributions. Perhaps you
have made it a habit to smile no mat
ter if you have been unhappy inside.
You have taken time out to help get
up a Y. P. C. program although you
have been busy with personal things.
You have been polite in the classroom
to both your teacher and fellow stu
dent You have overcome those lazy
habiis and learned to be energetic. In
other words, you have let the spirit of
Christ be reflected in your life on the
campus.

that you would be proud of Montreat
