Page 6 THE DIALETTE November, 1949 Davidson College Plan Announced DAVIDSON—The $2,500,000 Davidson College Development program will open in the West ern North Carolina area, includ ing Black Mountain with a “Dav idson Dinner” in Asheville, Thurs day, Dec. 1. All alumni, parents and friends of the college are invited to at tend the dinner meeting at the Battery Park Hotel at 6:30 p. m. There will be no charge for the dinner and no solicitation will be made. Ladies are also invited. Included on the program will be an address by Dr. John A. Cun ningham president of Davidson, and a showing of a sound-color movie made on the campus. The national Davidson program has secured $1,970,000 toward the $2,500,000 goal. The money will be used for a new gymnasium, church student center, dormitory, fine arts quadrangle and for a $1,000,- 000 addition to the college endow ment. Recently Mrs. Joseph Wilken- son (ESTELLE ISENHOWER) was evacuated with her five weeks old son, Stephen, to Japan from China, where she and her hus band were serving on the mission field.
