Dear Friends:
Isn’t it difficult to believe that when
you read this, more than a month will
have passed since you came to Montreat
College? Those who have been here be
fore can understand why at Montreat time
seems to be faster than the speediest jet
bomber. Perhaps for you new students,
it has been a surprise. You have happy
memories of the eordial, hearty, and earn
est welcome which was given to you by
students and faculty, and how much has
been done in the dormitories, on the cam
pus, and the classrooms to make the be
ginning delightful and inspiring and hap
py-
All of us at Montreat have been helped
by the way in which you have responded.
Your interest, your full participation, and
your eager and ambitious efforts assure
all of us that we are going to have an
excellent year. We will be increasingly
proud and thankful for that which you
are and so we joyfully watch you continue
to develop into all the loveliness of beau
tiful, Christian womanhood.
We believe you have found here a
Christian atmosphere and a Christian pro
gram for the whole life which challenges
your best and tempts you to respond with
all your heart. Your zest and fine spirit
in the recreational, social, and athletic
program bring genuine happiness and fun
to all of us. We know that in all of this
wc receive aecording to the investment of
our life we put into it, that we find our
selves as we lose ourselves for others.
May I give you a verse of Scripture which
means much to me? “But my God shall
supply all your needs aceording to His
riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” Philip-
pians 4:19
Remember, if ever you think there is
anything I might do for you, I want you
to give me the opportunity.
Sincerely,
“Doetor Mac”
