Homecoming Features Alumni
Homecoming Day gets underway with the
commencement of the Worship Service at
10:00 a.m. in Gaither Chapel. Rev. A. F.
Forgarty is bringing the message.
Familiar faces have been appearing on
the campus all day. Approximately fifty
former Montreat students returned for this
gay occasion. Mixed emotions of joy and
thankfulness can be seen everywhere as
students are reunited with friends of the
past.
The big soccer game between the Varsity
and the Alumni begins at 2:00 p.m. this af
ternoon. In the past years, the Varsity has,
by a narrow margin, defeated the Alumni.
With so many Alumni lettermen participat
ing today, this is sure to prove a most
exciting game. A special group leading the
cheers includes Ellen Mize, Carol Chupp,
Mary Ellen Sproles, Doris Peterson, Celeste
Rogerson, Barbara Young, Sanda McRae,
Nancy Robertson, Betty Ayers, and Nancy
Parker.
