Faculty Revised For
Coming School Year
As the school year draws to a close, the
thoughts of the returning students turn
to the coming school year, to their new
courses, and to the professors who will
be teaching those courses. There will be
a few changes in the faculty of Montreat
for the coming school year of 1960-61,
Mrs. Burchfiel is leaving to teach in the
Business Department at the University of
Tennessee, while Mr. Burchfiel is working
on his Doctrate Degree. Mrs. Burchfiel is
being replaced by Mrs. Stuart Miller of
Black Mountain.
Miss Annie Webb of the Mathematics
Department will not be returning, but as
yet she has not been replaced.
The infirmary will not be the same next
year. Our Miss Ward is retiring and will
not be in the infirmary to “coddle” us
during our illnesses. The infirmary will
be moved to the first floor of College Hall,
while repairs are being made on the old
one. Mrs. Mary Edwards of Durham, N.
C., and the mother of Mrs. James Uzzell,
office secretary, will be head resident.
Mrs. Edwards will also be director of the
male students who will be lodged on the
second floor of College Hall.
Ann Bullard is leaving us to take a post

EEK.^ We Goofed!
It finally paid off — those frantic last
minute touches to the paper. We goofed
—and how!! The caption for the feature
about Miss Hoyt carried a word, which,
no matter how “good” it sounded, was un
forgivably incorrect. The word, “Emeri
tus”, has now been added to the vocabu
lary of the staff, and according to Webster,
means “Retired, as for age, with a title
corresponding to that held in active ser
vice.”
