which the Sophomore officers proceeded to

Sophomores wore the blue robes with
gold collars. Freshmen wore the robes
without the collars.
To close the ceremony the new officers
and old sang a hymn, followed by Congre
gational singing of “Have Thine Own Way,
Lord.”
After the service in the chapel, both
Freshmen and Sophomores went to the
lake, 'fhe Sophomores went to one side
and the Freshmen gathered on the other.
There, choruses and hymns were sung to
each other. This event was closed by the

Marshalls For ^61
Commencement
Our congratulations go to Barbara Fulk,
Mary Hendley, Rebecca Morse, and Elsie
Scott who were chosen as marshals for the
1961 Commencement Exercises of Montreat-

to meet people, and their outstanding
academic record.
Margaret, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. L.
G. Cooper from La Lima, Honduras, is now
the secretary-treasurer of the Montreat-
Anderson College student government.
Margaret lives with her parents in La Lima
only during the summer months, as she at

living there with her sister. In both Hous

She was captain of a bowling team, and a
member of an archery and swimming team.
While at Montreat Margaret has been in
the C. C. U. N. Her talents in the fields
of sewing and hair dressing plus her ex

of every one in the college. Margaret, it
is indeed a pleasure to welcome you to the
Cabinet.
The newly elected vice-president of the
S. G. A. is the daughter of Reverend and
Mrs. F. R. Morse of Birmingham, Alabama.
Rebecca is majoring in Christian Education
and has already become quite well-known
on campus in various organizations. She
represented Montreat-Anderson at the
Youth Quadrentinal Convention in Dallas,
Texas, during her Christmas vacation. This
was not entirely new to her as she was
