I think maybe you might enjoy reading our paper more if you knew and understood
what it is going to include,
T^he social column is to be written by a freshman, Anne McNeely, from North Caro
lina, who is majoring in science. Anne will be writing reports on the clubs and
their activities. She will be writing about social events that have occurred or
will be occurring on campus. Each month she will present a calendar of the social
events that are to come. Any activities pertaining to this field will be reported
by Anne and your club news should be given to her,
A column entitled "The Lion's Roar" willbe presented by Judie Knight,a sophomore
from Toronto, Canada. Judie's courseof study is Religious Education. It is Judie's
duty to add a little humor to our paper. If you know Judie, you will agree that her
sense of humor is a striking one. TAlho knows what she'll come up with.
Jim Morrison, a freshman from* Columbia, South Carolina, will be the reporter of
political news. Jim's course of study is pre-law. It will be his duty to repoft
on any situation or news event at the present, in the past, or that may occur in the
future.
The sports column will be presented by Mike Clark, Mike is a freshman from Bre
vard, ^North Carolina,and is majoring in journalism. A'nytime Montreat is participa
ting in some sports activity, you can assure yourselfthat Mike will be there to re
port it for you. Mike has written a sports column for two years. In his junior
year of high school, he wrote for his high school paper and in his senior year, he
wrote for the Brevard College Paper.
George Darden will be presenting a column pertaining to music. George, a sopho
more from Orangf^Vorg,South Carolina, is majoring in music. He is an outstanding
musician, and if you ever heard him you would know what I mean. Before Georgegrsd-
uated from high school, he was admitted to the Music Department of Irdinna Univer
sity. In 1963, he made his debut with the Savannah Symphony Orchestra. It will be
his job to take something of musical interest to all and to report on it.
^ Mike Ryon, a sophomore from Chapel Hill, North Carolina, deals with two things.
Mike's course of study is liberal arts and next year his major will be architecture
at N. C. State. Mike has a column that will be concerned with a personality in the
school. In this column, he will introduce the person and tell something of him life
and plans. The other job Mike has is to present the cartoons.
The editor of the paper is Janice Rogers, a sophomore from Canton,North Carolina,
whose course of study^is music. The assistant editor is Kim Moore, a sophomore from
Melbourne Beach, Florida. Kim's course of study is science. Janice and Kim will
be responsible for writing the editorials for each edition.
John flail, a freshman from Amelia C. H., Virginia, is majoring in Christian
Education. John is responsible for the layout of the paper, along with ..Terrie
Revis and Mary Lynne Fright, who will type the paper. Terrie is a sophomore from
Canton, North Carolina, and is majoring in business education. Mary Lynne is a
sophomore from Jacksonville, Florida_and is majoring in secretarial science.

Since this is the first issue of a new edition of "The Dialette," the
issue of this and succeeding issues this year will be number I.
