Open House

Last Monday, December 8th, was set
aside for M.A. Hall's open house. All
the girls had spent a lot of time on
their door decorations. There were
many comments made about how nice every
floor looked.
Mrs. Pat Daniels of Black Mountain,
N. C. came to look over all of the doors
and select the best ones. Recognition
goes to the following:

Thanks go to all the students of
Montreat-Anderson for making M.A. Hall's
Open House such a success.
The Annual Staff is conducting a "photo
contest."
Three prizes will be given to the best
and most interesting shots. First Prize
will be $10.00, second prize $5.00, and
third prize will be $3.00. The pictures
will also be used in the Annual this
year.
Any student interested may submit
pictures of some aspect of campus life
to Dean Tyler's office no later than
January 17th.
SPOTLIGHT FOREIGN STUDENTS

Georgia Koukis is a nineteen year old
Greek girl from Athens. An epitome of
beauty, she came into the United States
in 1968 and is a freshman. She plans
to become a mathematics major, possibly
to earn a doctorate with a vocational
objective in teaching. Georgia studied
at Byrron High School in Athens. Her
father and younger brother are residents
of Asheville, N. C. Georgia's hobbies
are soccer, swimming, and she has an
inborn love for the sea. She has a
very captivating smile and is a bright
spot at MAC.
Joseph Gabidon comes from Bathurst in
Gambia, West Africa. He received his
high school education in Gambia High
School in-Bathurst. He is a Roman
Catholic , but he accpts all Christian
religions , not minding denominational
differences. A freshman, with a keen
aptitude for mathematics, Joseph plans
to study medicine and practice in his
homeland. Joseph played on the MAC
soccer team and enjoys dating and watching
T. Vi Joe is very friendly and has
a sleek and calm way of approaching
people. Black Joe has one of the
broadest smiles behind the ice-cream
counter of the Student Union.
Kasra Farzanegan is eighteen years old
and until recently was a resident of
Munich, West Germany. Paternallv a
Persian and maternally a German, Kasra
prefers to claim both nationalities.
His earlier studies were in Munich
American High School and M-N-C School
in Gisela. KK, as most people know him,
plans on a career in Dentistry. He
is a devout Moslem. He has played on
the Montreat Soccer team and his hobbies
are tennis and music. KK has a
rational afinity for beautiful girls.
Ghanshyam Udani comes from Kampala,
Uganda in East Africa. A second
semester freshman, Shyam plans on a
physics or a medicine major. He is
very much in love with Africa but when
asked about his feeling about his stay
in America, he says "I have had no
cause for regret." Gentle, calm, and
reposed, Shyam is honorary Secretary of
the Phi Theta Kappa Society. He enjoys
ping pong, badminton, and creative
writing. Shyam works part time in the
admissions office. Shortly, Shyam hopes
to again see his family of two brothers,
one sister, mother and father, who is
employed in the insurance business.
