May Day Program Saturday
The 1970 Montreat-Anderson
May Court will be held on Satur
day, May 9 at 2 P. M. on the
lawn in front of Andrson Audi
torium. The Queen and Princess
will be. crowned and the Court
and audience will be entertain
ed by the Gymnastics Club and
the Maypole Dancers. Following
the Court the student body and
their guests will be served re
freshments by the Faculty Social
Committee.
The identity of the Queen and
the Princess will not be known
until the Crowning Ceremony.
Bob Blair, President of SGA will
crown the Princess and Dean
Howard Kester will crown the
Queen. Brett Blizzard will be the
Master of Ceremohis. Crown
barers are Nathan Thielman and
Allison Mitchell.
The Court is composed of the

Concert Thursday
DRAMA NEXT WEEK
The MAC Dramma Group will
present a one act play “Two In
A Trap” on Tuesday and Wed
nesday nights of next week in
Gaither Chapel. The performan
ces will begin at 8 P. M. each
evening.
The plot revolves around two
women who get caught in a
malfunctioning elevator. The
part of Opal is played by Betty
Gayle Barkett and Grace by
Cheryl England. The director is
Mrs. Mark Steil.
This promises to be an ex
cellent production and there is
no admission charge.
ABORTION SEMINAR
Miss Hoyt’s sociology class will
present a program on the pros
and cons of the Abortion law.
This program will be presented
by students, faculty, and guest
panelists, at 8 P. M., Wednesday,
May 13, 1970, in the student
Union. There will be refresh
ments served. Everyone is invit
ed to come listen and air their
opinions.
The Ciompi Quartet of Duke
University will appear in Con
cert in Gaither Hall at Montreat-
Anderson College at 8 P. M.
Thursday, May 7th. This will be
the last appearance of this in
ternationally renowned group
and the friends of the college in
the area are invited to attend.
There is no admission charge.
The group is composed of
Giorgio Ciompi, violin, Arlene
DiCecco, violin Julia Mueller,
viola and Luca Dicecco, cello.
They wll play the "Quartet in E
Flat,” K 428 by Mozart; “String
Quartet” (1955) by Irvine Fine
and “Quartet in F Major”, Op.
135 by Beethoven following the
intermission.
GOLF NEWS
The Golf Team, although
without victory this year, has
represented Montreat-Anderson
College well. They have two
matches yet to play, the last
with MitcheU College on May 7
at 1 P. M.
This year’s team is composed
of Phil Zimmerman, Captain,
Jim Smith, Woody Hayle, Harold
Cole and Walter Clark.
