The only way to have a friend
is to be one! - Emerson.
WHO'S WHO?
Montreat has many new faces
among the number of people in
volved with the college. Hidden
behind one new face is an individ
ual who enjoys a variety of hob
bies, from classical music to fish
ing, photography, and collecting
beetles.
This beetle collector can often be
found in and aroxmd the Science
Building. To look at him, one
would hardly expect to guess he is
a beetle collector ... or for that
matter, a West Point graduate.
What is a West Point graduate
doing collecting beetles? Our
friend did not start collecting and
studying beetles until he had serv
ed in World War II, the Korean
War, and retired from the service.
He moved to Fletcher, North
Carolina and began to study Bio
logy and Entomology. He later
moved to Asheville, where he is
presently teaching Biology in the
area, at MAC.
Students, meet our new Biology
professor. Colonel Lester L. Lamp-
ert, Jr.

MAC
OFFICE OF ADMISSIONS
Misses Carolyn Bartlett and Jan
ice Wheelon have covered thous
ands of miles in the Southeastern
portion of the country this year, at
tending various High School Days
where college representatives
strive to recriut students to their
colleges.
The Admissions Office is spon
soring a College Day, Feb. 6th,
with many college representatives
available to Freshmen and Sopho
more students of MAC, for infor
mation concerning transfers.
Forthcoming events of particular
interest will be:
Charlotte Day - Feb. 15 & 16
Sr. Day - March 15 & 16
Jr. Day - March 29 & 30
Students are invited from all over
the Southeast for Sr. and Jr. Days.
These guests will arrive on Friday,
spend the night with friends and
students of MAC, and will leave
about 2 P.M., Saturday, so they can
get home before gas stations close
due to the fuel shortage.
Let’s make the most of these spec
ial events, and make our visitors
welcome.
