GkwDd news for the Montreat
sports fans! Our tennis ■ team has
already surpassed their efforts
from last year!
Our first match was with
Mitchell, and we lost by only one
point We appreciate the efforts
of the whole team, and we want
to thank Sam Thomas, Buster
Dewew, and Michael Johnston
for their single wins.
The second match, played at Iso
thermal, was rained out before
the doubles had been played. So
far, the score was 4 to 2 in Mon
treat's favor. When Isothermal
visits M-A, the doubles will be
fimsUed.
The mental attitude of the team
is a very positive one. All the
players are working to build each
other’s game up. “The game that
is played is the Lord’s, because
we turn it over to Him even be
fore stepping onto the courts.”
This coming Saturday, March
30th, our first home match will
be played. We are playing War
ren Wilson College, and we wish
to encourage all students to come
out and support THEIR team.

HORSEBACK RIDING
Horseback riding classes began
for MAC students March 12th.
There are four horses for class
use, and in case you haven’t been
introduced to thiem yet, thejir
names are Chief, Lady, Skeet, and
Pat.
The classes include a variety of
activities, ranging from riding
the horses to cleanng out the
stalls.
The classes are transported to
the stables by use of a ‘.‘Jeep”,
which, by judging its looks, could
be debated. Nevertheless, it has
only blown up once so far. As
most of the students have dis
cover (to their dismay), the ride
up the mountain, over all the pot
holes, etc., does have its up and
downs.
All of you horse fans not in the
classes, please don’t feel left out.
The horses will be rented out to
all students for out-of-clas? rid
ing. A schedule of horseback
riding times will be posted at a
later date, but until then, any in
terested persons should contact
either Pat Griset or Ron James.
