i Memories Page 5 M.A.C. Viewpoint What Homecoming means to me by Karen McGee Lee Schroeder (sophomore) It means seeing all your old friends from last year. It’s a time to bring the soccer season to a height and something to look forward to. Bernard Harvey (sophomore) Homecoming to me is a time of hap piness and sadness for the reuniting of old friends. It’s like the prodigal son, the men and women that go out into the world and get a chance to live in it for a short while, but they all rejoice because of their coming back home. Patsy Plumlee (sophomore) The best part about homecoming is seeing all of the people from last year. Christie Yarbrough (Sophomore) I’m most excited about having people from last year come back and spending time with them. It’s going to be reliving a little bit of last vear. Kelly Barcliff (Freshman) Homecoming means to me a time for seeing old friends and meeting new people that were here at the school years back and new freshmen that you have not had time to meet. Laura Fisher (Sophomore) It’s really exciting getting to see all your friends from last year. It’s good to see what the Lord’s done for them in their lives and how much they’ve grown. It’s good to be a part of it this year instead of like last year when I stood back and watched all the crazy sophomores scream. Jill Roberts (sophomore) It means all the sophomores come back and seeing all the friends that we’ve missed. Sheila Bigger (sophomore) Homecoming is a time to reunite with some very special people from last year. It’s an opportunity to share laughter, tears, and precious memories. Homecoming is also a time to say final goodbyes to those friends who had a super impact on my life. David Ownbey“The Peep” (soph.) In my opinion , Homecoming has two main purposes. The first is to promote the feeling of “Family” that is so much a part of Montreat. I think it’s beneficial for the freshmen to become acquainted with former Montreatians. Sopomores get a chance to renew old friendships. Secondly, Homecoming is a “Blast” weekend! I’m sure that it will be a totally “New Wave” experience! Andrew James (freshman) Homecoming is the changing of the leaves from green to gold, brown, and black. Oh the solitude of the continuous rain causes the leaves to be plucked off the trees and plunged to their eternal death onto the ground. Then you look onto the cold, damp, mucky earth and see the feet of the alumni trodding upon the leaves. Yes, dead leaves mean alumni, that’s what homecoming means to me. Cathy Bush Homecoming is a time to renew old friendships, and to establish new ones. In particular it gives last year’s freshmen and sophomore classes a chance to catch up on the summer’s events and to get any addresses they forgot to get at the end of last year.
