On Your Mark...

If you enjoy the
thrill of speed and
racing then Fun
Wheels Grand Prix is
the place for you.
Don^t worry if you
can't go to Indianapo
lis for this excitement,
because this place is
found in your own
back yard. East
Asheville. Fun Wheels
is on Highway 70 lo
cated right next door
to Hardees. Careful, it
can be easy to miss.
Fun Wheels has
three parts to it's es
tablishment: the race
track, the bumper
boats and the arcade.
First the race track. IP s
a very extraordinary
track including six
curves, weaving left to
right to test the real
race car drivers. And
to increase the compe
tition, between you
and your friends. Fun
Wheels has taken four
of the curves and made
them oily so that it
catches even the calm
est driver off guard.
You have a wide vari
ety of different colors
of cars to pick from.
After picking your car,
you situate yourself
behind the wheel of a
screaming five horse
power beast. IPs a
tight fit but that adds
to the excitement. Wait
for the green light,
push the gas pedal (on
your left) and put your
pedal to the metal! You
would think this
amount of fun would
cost an even greater
amount of money, but
not so. For three dol
lars and fifty cents you
get six minutes, which
is approximately
eighteen laps. Also,
show your Montreat-
Anderson College I.D.
and the attendant will
tack on a few extra
minutes.
After that, if you
are still feeling adven
turous, head to the
bumper boats. These
small motor inner-
tube boats float on top
of a pool of water. The
object being to knock
into other friends with
your boats. Don't fret,
you will not get sea
sick, you do however
bob around and get
very wet so be pre
pared.
And if none of
these activities ap
peals to your sense of
adventure, just go in
side for the arcade.
There are not many
arcade games to
choose from, but they
do have some of the
well known names
such as Off-Road (iPs
good). Tetris, Teenage
Mutant Ninja Turtles
andAfter-Bumer. And
not to worry, they have
the claw game where
you have the metal
claw and try to win
yourself or your
sweetheart a cute
stuffed animal.
Fun Wheels is a
great place whether
you're driving a car.
bumping a boat, or just
relaxing at an arcade
game. Go and see for
yourself who knows
you could be the next
Richard Petty!
