Thank God, I can’t help but sit back and smile at all the Bush fans so deeply disappointed at his loss. Face it people. Bill Clinton is your new President, whether you like it or not. As a Clinton supporter—one of the very few here on campus — I have been hearing some very negative and somewhat vulgar remarks from some of thestudents. I would like to clue you people in on a few things. Theevents in this country that are happening before our very eyes are only going to get worse before they get better, regardless of who is in office. Just a few suggestions for all the disappointed Bush fanatics: swallow your pride and support the new president. Maybe everything won’t be perfect but how could you possibly expect any one person to fix the mess we’re in? Clinton does have a lot of radical ideas but I think that’s what our country needs. A new leader with new ideas. I mean look around you (please, look beyond Montreat and Black Mountain); this country has developed into a radically changing place; new technologies and a diversity of people that are demanding a change. So please, stop the stupid cut-downs about Clinton and GET ON WITH YOUR LIFE! Just always keep your mind open and stop thinking so monotonously.
