Controversy Characterizes
Greybeard Production
By Christian Malone
Producer Brian Fuller and the
Greybeard Players announced the cast
for their drama doubleheader, which will
take place April 24-26. He believes he
has put together a fantastic cast for both
plays, which will help both to be rousing
successes.
Though he expects
both plays to be e.xcel-
lent. Fuller also knows
there will likely be
some controversy over
the plays, especially the
second one which
deals with material
that, quite possibly,
could offend some
viewers.
Leading off the
night will be The Appli
cation, a one-act com
edy about what it takes
to get into Heaven.
The play, which takes place in the
waiting room of Heaven, was written by
Montreat alum Jeffrey Reardon f95).
The cast contains four parts. Junior
Ashley Ecklerwill play the secretary in
the waiting room; freshman Matt
Emmy Award winner, Brian Fuller
directing last year’s production of
The Late Christopher Bean
McMurrin will play the grad student;
SGA President. Hunt Briggs plays
Charles Chillingworth. a 40-year old
businessman; and freshman Alex
Cervantes will take the stage as Rachel
Staton, a young school teacher.
The play should turn out to be very
comical, but at the
same time, will have
some underlying the
ology interwoven.
However, all feel
ings of comedy will
disappear in the sec
ond play. The
Stonewater Rapture
by Doug Wright. Its
plot is about gang
rape, and about turn
ing to God for help in
the face of evil.
Junior Jeremy
Witteveen will play
Whitney, a thin, pensive. 18-year old high
school senior, while junior Melissa
Brown will take on the role of Carlyle, a
deeply religious virgin of the same age.
Both feel they are taking on a tough as
signment.

Dorm Noise Causes Complaints
By Daryl Bryant
Students have begun to complain
about the noise level in the dorms. Al
though quiet hours have been established,
many dorms continue to have problems.
Senior Davis resident. Chopper
SoLider commented. “There is too much
noise after midnight and it is almost im
possible for anybody to get to sleep be
fore then on any given night. It aggra
vates me that some people don't respect
other people. Especially those who live
on the third floor who make too much
noise that affects everyone below them."
The Student Handbook states that
certain hours are to be established as
quiet hours in the dorms. The study hours
are from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday through
Thursday and every night from 11 p.m.
to 8 a.m. Twenty-four hour quiet hours
begin at 11 ;00 p.m. on the evening prior
to reading day and continue through ex
ams.
