By Coach Joe Hagan Montreal NC - The Montreal women clinched a berth in the post season AAC Women’s Soccer Tour nament for the first time since the 20th century with an impressive 2-0 shutout of Bryan College. The win, their fourth in a row, raises the Cavalier’s record to 7-8 overall and an improved 2-5 in the Appala chian Athletic Conference. A combination of tenacious defense and timely scoring gave Montreal the win. It took ‘til the 32nd minute of the game for true freshman Kathryn Threadgill (Fairhopc AL) to score on an assist from junior Jessica Ghiotto (Lutz FL). That would be all it would take as sophomore keeper Natessa Kerr (Hudson NC) went on to record her fourth shutout of the year. Ghiotto added an insurance goal only four minutes into the second half on a pass from junior Christina Hodges (Bonita Springs FL). The Lady Cavalier’s outstand ing team defense limited Bryan to four shots on the day. The Cav women will be play ing the AAC 3rd place finisher at a future date and place yet to be determined. The Lady Cavs celebrate after a well earned victory! With the Defeat of Bryan College Montreat has guaranteed their berth in AAC Tournament. Montreat Pride Shirts By Karen A.
