Andrews It is that time of year again, when Montreat College students, staff and faculty take part in a journey of renewing their faith. Crossroads (aka Spiritual Empha sis Week) is coming up February 12"'-14"'. This is a time when we come together as a community of Believers to take a deeper look into the development of the Christian faith. This year’s speaker will be Steele Hannon. Hannon attended Centre Col lege and also attended the Univer sity of Cmcinnati where he received his Master in Guidxmce and Coun seling. Since 1983 he has been the State Director for the Fellowship of Christian Atliletes in Kentucky. Chaplain Bill Cain says there is not a set theme for the talks, but he feels that it will have something to do with renewal. Please join Bill Cain in welcoming Steele to our campus for this wonderful time of growth in the spirit of Jesus. Spiritual Munchies... By Jennifer Albertson Got Money?? Walking around campus seeing all of the black “GO f MONEY?” shirts ami participating in the thon for tlie last two weeks, has ser\'ed ;is a constant reminder ot God’s provision. This may seem s at first read, but when one steps back, they realize that the question. Got Money? is one of man s grea struggles. “serve When Jesus delivered His Sermon on the Mount, He warned us of this. He tells us that man cminot - two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one aiK otlier. You caimot serve God and money” (Matthew 6:24). The context ol this passage goes on to we should not be anxious about our life, what we will eat or wear. For, if God is faithful to feec t le ir clothe the lilies of the field, then He will certainly be faithful to take care ot his children s e\ery nee We also read in Hebrews 13:5 that God tells us, “I will never leave you, nor forsake you. as 1 have read this passage and been encouraged by it, 1 never fully understood what the aut tor o was really trymg to say! The context of this passage is talking about money as well! In act, “Keep your life free from the love of money, and bo content with what you have, tor I le has sau , leave you, nor forsake you” (Heb. 13:5). , j^gnm- Thc context of tliis Hebrews passage is an incredible comfort in the area of finmices for a poop e, tions, and nations! Not only do we have the promise that He will never leave us, nor forsake us, u means He will never just leave us out to dry in regards to money! We have a God who is sovereign things and all people. This God we can trust even when it comes to our money! Pray tltis Scripture and walk faithfully therein! Jesus Christ is good and faithful!
