Hebrews 13:20-21 , • Greetingsl I pray that the semester is going well for each ora of you here at Montreal College. As my time at Montreal draws closer to its conclusion I think on these verses more each day. I think of how purpose&l God is in everything that he docs. He has planned out from the beginning of time each one of our lives. He has ordained the large and small events that have sh^ied who we have and will continue to become in Chnst Jesus. I thmk of how amatang God is in power and yet how gentle in peace and grace. Through His grace He has brought us each to this point in our lives and by that same grace he will lead us in our future directions. God may call us to do some impossible things in our lives, but He will always provide us with what we need in order to do what he has asked. Our heavenly Father desires to equip us for the tasks that he has appointed for us. He desires that we seek his will and allow him to work in us what pleases him. Christians, the only way that we will succeed is by recognizing what God is calling us to and taking hold of the things God is giving us to use to get there. My challenge to you is to consider this: How is God shaping your life and equipping you through Christ? What people has He used to influence you? What circumstances has He put you in? Finally, what tasks, great and small, is He calling you to do for His kingdom? Seek the Father’s perfect will, rely on Christ, and use the power of the Holy Spirit in order to glorify God in all that you are called to accomplish. May the God of peace equip you with everything good for doing his will. One Enemy is too many; and a hundred friends too few. does not determine is right, war deter- War who mines who is left. Wright Director, Charlotte Campus I recently made a trip to the Montreat campus from Charlotte with a group of 3"“ and S"* grade students from Nations Ford Christian Academy. I should explain, I make many trips to the campus in the course of a month, and in all honesty I feel I can do it with my eyes closed, and evi dently I do because this trip with the kids opened my eyes to what I have been missing on my trek. The children attend the school that we adopted in Charlotte a few years back. They are won derful kids; full of adventure and excitement and awe and yes, they are city kids. I realized riding up with them in the van, that I have been driving by a plethora of visual stimuli. Every cow and bam, and silo (new discovery for them), every food sign and yes even the road kill was of instant excitement and warranted at least 10 minutes of discussion. When we got to the campus they were able to tour the Chapel of the Prodigal. A special thanks to Teresa Price who did a won derful (spur of the moment) presentation. They loved it! I had never had the presentation and learned many new tidbits even though I have been in the Chapel on several occasions. Also, thanks to Anita Darby, Aramark, Michelle Weeks and FREE I I Chick-Fil-A Chicken | Sandwich with the ^ purchase of any combo. I Expires: 12-01-2003 Chante Vaughn who all helped to plan the event. The next stop was lunch in the cafeteria, which was surely one of the highlights of the day. Thanks to everyone who took time to stop by and say hello; Bill Cain, who told them about the broccoli flavored ice cream that was available and especially Alicia who spent the whole lunch with them and gave a special tour of her dorm room. They are all ready to at least move on campus. Taking hard classes is another thing. We met the lone swan in Lake Susan - my first time stopping by the lake. I was amazed at the size of the swan and we were all sad to hear he had recently lost his mate. One of the kids dropped her camera in the lake trying to feed him and take a picture at the same time; (drama) fortunately that was the only negative inci dent that we had and she only cried for a minute. As we headed back to Char lotte, they dropped off to sleep one by one, exhausted from the mountain air and excitement. I felt like I had visited the campus for the first time. I want to thank the kids for showing me the campus through their eyes. I wonder if being there every day can also make you take for granted the beauty of your envi ronment. .. If so, take a group of kids and look around through their eyes.
