meet mentreat! by April Heyward What is your favorite book? James Brittany Jeff Sophomore Brittany Bums chose Odd Girl Out by Ann Bannon as her favorite book. The English major says the book talks about the strug gle of the character Laura Landon during her first year at college. “She had to accept who she was not what [her peers] wanted her to be.” Junior Rock Hill, SC native James Yon was inspired by Treasure Island. “ It really gave me a sense of adven ture when I was a young boy. It made me want to be a pirate.” The outdoor educa tion major wants to work in youth ministry after leaving I college. King of Hearts 2004 and this year’s MC, Zach Blew fights with last year’s mnner-up Andrew Bauman. Tar- bell Patton took the crown for King of Hearts 2005. Jeff Conley thought The Hunchback of Notre Dame by Victor Hugo was “so interesting, it was a really quick read.” The sophomore biology major said he liked the negative relationship between Quasimodo and the Cardinal and the positive ^ one between Quasimodo and I Esmeralda.
