FROM THE EDITOR Keep The Whetstone, MontreaTs Student Voice, alive. The Whetstone has three staff positions available for the 2010- 2011 school year. All staff positions come with a $1000 Student Leadership Excellence Scholarship in addition to an hourly work- study position. Editor-in-Chief— Must be a leader on campus, preferably a junior or senior able to commutate effectively both verbally and in writing. Have a clear understanding of proper grammar and punctuation. Primary roles include carrying out any administrative duties. Assist in editing and managing tne production of The Whetstone. Encourage English and Communication majors or those who plan to work in publication, broadcasting, journalism, or multimedia fields to apply. Layout / Design Editor— Must have working knowledge of Mac computers, software programs InDesign and Photoshop, or be a quick learner and available to train. Primary role is to design the layout of The Whetstone using individuals who enjoy computer and graphic design should apply. artistic abilities. Art minors, CIS majors, and Business Manager— Must be a self-motivated individual with interest in sales and marketing. Responsibilities include planning budget, managing accounts, bringing in revenue from ad sales, and filing contracts and invoices.
