FROM THE EDITOR Okay. I’m not sure exactly what I should be writing. I mean, I have a fuli half-page of monologue to scribble my thoughts on whatever I decide. I could talk about the quality difference between Folger’s and Eight O’clock coffee— or I could be responsible and write something pertinent to The Whetstone that would actually (hopefully) benefit you to read. It’s that time again: the first issue of The Whetstone for the year is here! It’s in for some big changes this year—for example, you might have noticed that we are offering $5 per accepted article on a trial basis, if we get enough quality articles to continue it, it will become a regular thing, so keep the submissions coming in! Editors: Past and Present We’re also working on another change. Instead of printing The Whetstone monthly, we are striving to print it bi-weekly. Again, this will only happen with your support, so watch for emails with the deadlines for each issue. We’re also online (mcwhetstone.com), so check it out! We also have a great staff this year. I’m happy to welcome Heather Carr, Kara Fohner and Meredith Florence to the team and can’t wait to see how the rest of the year goes. I’m excited and looking forward to some great issues. The Whetstone is “Montreat College’s Student Voice,” so be heard. The admissions team has also started handing these out to prospective students when they visit, so think about what you would like to read if you were a potential student. Also, if you have a response to one of the articles, email or mail it to us—^this is the student paper, so represent! Thanks for taking the time to read this. I hope you enjoy this year’s first issue of The Whetstone.
