I am so happy to be back at school with all of my friends and awkward ac quaintances. And I am so excited to meet new students! I am sure it will happen sometime. For. those who do not know me, allow me to intro- —I duce myself. My name is Benita Boxy, and I am the Montreat College Gossip Columnist. It may surprise you that a Christian college has a gossip columnist! But, as it says in John 8:12, “Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall set you free.” Mr. Tumnus: Good or Evil? There is a hot new controversy bubbling over in the Christian world. Is it acceptable to read the Narnia Chronicles, despite the fact that they are filled with pagan imagery? Luckily, to help us deal with this brand new topic about a seven book series with both magical and Christian themes, our very own Dr. King is preparing a talk to help us sort out this issue. Ms. Boxy is thrilled to see this. She would hate to have to wait until after all the movies have come out and the controversy died down to learn whether or not this series was acceptable. Narrow Minded It is painfully obvious to anyone who leaves town (which Ms. Boxy never does) that the Montreat Gate, the Eiffel Tower of the middle of nowhere, is in disrepair. Rumor has it the gate was damaged when a student with a Vigorous & Expanded Mind at tempted to drive through the gate. Ms. Boxy is uncertain what make or model of car a “Vigorous & Expanded Mind” is, but she assumes it is something foreign. I Septembers, 2011 | Page T|
