I November 17, 201 ll Page~7] HUMOR Montreal Murmurings Greetings students! Happy Thanksgiving! The wonderful celebration of how the Pilgrims and the In dians sat down together at a tension free meal on the fourth Thursday of November to celebrate the mar riage of Pocahontas and John Smith. After Thanks giving comes Christmas, but before Christmas comes Finals! It is Ms. Benita’s prayer that you do well and finish the semester with excellence. On to the mur murings! Served Stiffless There are many students who suffer from an invisible affliction. While it doesn’t affect their studies, many of them are too afraid of the labels that may be placed on them if anyone were to find out. Thus, many cases go undocumented. “It’s a real problem,” notes Nurse Linda. Sani-serv-phobia IS the name of this insidious plague. Sufferers are ter rified of using the tongs provided for them at the caf eteria. ‘It just seems so unsanitary, so many students have touched them, it seems safer to just grab the food with my bare hands,” said Senior Claire DuBois, a long time sufferer of Saniservphobia, who agreed to be quoted on the condition of anonymity. Ms. Boxy certainly understands these perfectly rational fears, but she hopes that sufferers will have the courage to seek help. It’s a Drag First and foremost; Ms. Boxy would like to offer hearty congratulations to all the student athletes for their work this semester, espe cially to the teams whose efforts have been rewarded in the forms of victory and esteem. Unfortunately, this has not been true across the board. Now, Ms. Boxy realizes that she does not write a sports column, but she has heard so little said about this team that speaking of them almost feels like gossip! The Men’s Volleyball team has endured defeat after crushing defeat, but in spite of it all, they still keep their heads held high. “It’s a really great group of guys,” stated team captain Stephen Long, “But it can be hard. A lot of people don’t understand the old British tradition of playing in full drag, but we have a loyal following. and they get it.” I only hope that Montreat will come out and support the men’s volleyball team just as heartily as they do all other sports clubs.
