4"' "-r-.c-jsr'^'X I rO H.-Sf-O'J r V -t>- V ’ Hey ya’II! Welcome back to Montreat for this new 2012-13 school year, and welcome for the first time to all the new students! I hope you guys have all had great summers, I know I have, but it’s that time of the year again to get your head back in the game. It’s crazy to think about being the Editor of the Whetstone for this year, and I think that writing this is the first time that it’s actually hit ting me. Montreat is going through so many changes and adjustments coming into this semester, and I feel privileged to be working with the Whetstone during this time of change. Speaking of all the new changes, what are all your thoughts on them? We have the meal swipe Huck situation, the new professors, and of course, our precious ice cream, to name a few. All these new changes create new opportunities to write your thoughts (and even tips or tricks for getting through them) for the Whetstone. There’s another hot topic brewing that involves us all, and that’s the Presidental Election. With all the pictures and speeches on television and in papers, we love hearing students talk about the current events that are important to them. Just make sure to be respect ful, please! The Whetstone is also great for getting the word out about events or clubs that you are passionate about. Love Seeds? Write something about an event that is coming up, or tell students why they should come to your meetings. See a great show in Asheville? Students love hearing about ways to get off campus and explore the city of Ash-Vegas in new ways. Same goes with class trips, Backcountry, big sports games, art galleries, and even movie nights in your dorm lobby. The Whetstone comes out every other Monday, and the dead lines for articles is midnight on the Tuesday before. That being said, our next deadline is September 19th, so mark your calanders! Finally, remember- If you don’t see anything in the Whet stone that you find interestng, write something for it that interests YOU. We would love to hear about it, and I’m sure other students would as well. This is your school, your paper, and your semester, so have fun with it! Talk to you soon! tX/X’XfX' etstone .Mmhrat Oifftjfc't Stu/(nt ‘T/wrt Writers: Staff: Heather Carr Heather Carr Jesse Merritt Lucas Smith Colin Anderson Shaq Cam Boles Josh VanDine Alex Thompson Luoas Smith Whetstone is published bi-weckly while sch(xM is in session.
