;io(A TBey^/f?et$tone JMontreat Collm’s Student ^oice Congratulation Class of 2014! We Staff of The Whetstone would like to congratulate the Class of 2014. We wish you the best of luck as you begin the next chapter of life. Before you go, take these profound words of wisdom. “Live long, and prosper.” -Dr. Spock Congratulations Class of 2014 -Your Whetstone Staff Letter From the Editor Faithful Readers, May, already? Can it be? Well, just to give you a trip down memory lane, we started this school year with a closed library, merger rumors, and rivers still running high from the very wet summer. However, we can all re member how these things panned out: The library was cleaned and reopened. The rumors were quelled with facts, and Montreat stood united against any darkness. And eventually, the weather went back to normal. Well, normal for Montreat, anyway. (which, really, is the farthest thing from normal imaginable.) As a newspaper, we’ve gone through some changes, as well. New staff writers, staff mem bers, editors, and of course the stories we cover. Just to catch up from last issue: I’m sad to say that we didn’t receive submissions for our graphics contest. Hopefully those of you who considered entering, but maybe fell off your radar due to papers and exams will think of something over the summer and find the courage to send it in when August gets here. The same goes for senior picture submissions. Even though we couldn’t honor you visually this issue, please know that we wish you the best and know that the Lord watches over you in each and every step of your life. I feel that I speak for all Whetstone writers and affiliates when I say that it has been a pleasure to bring you facts and good news, pictures and warm memories for the last nine months. We hope you feel the same about us! Enjoy your summer and we look forward to doing it all over again next year.
