Randolph of Burnsville visited with Mr. and Mrs. Charles Bridges last week end. They came especially to attend the graduation of their granddaughtr, Jennifer Bridges. Mrs. Randolph was honored with a birth day party on Friday night at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Bridges. Attending were their grandchildren and their husbands, Mr. and Mrs. David Houser, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Blanton and Jennifer Bridges. Also attending was Greg Whitaker of Mooresboro. Mr. and Mrs. John Washburn, Jr. and Mrs. Helen Beason spent this past week at the Beason cottage at Carolina Beach. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Z. Greene and Kelly from Rome, Ga.. Mrs. Chris Greene from Waco, Mrs. Jack Bostic from Cliffside, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Beason from Chester, S.C., Mrs. Betty Buff, Mrs. Beth Greene, and Mrs. Lee Scruggs, all of Shelby, visited Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Moore over the weekend. Mrs. Dean Bridges and children, Mark and Julie, from Pelham, Ala. spent this week with Mrs. Bridges’ parents, Mr. and Mrs. J.R. Greene. Community sympathy is expressed to the families of Mrs. Eunice Hart, Red Walker and BoBo Greene. Lavonia Community by Mrs. L. B. McCraw Rev. Ray Webb and the olded youth left Friday afternoon for a week at Ridgecrest. There will not be a youth meeting this week. The Lottie Moon Circle met Tuesday evening at the home of Mrs. Brenda Jolley. The Bertha Smith Circle met Monday evening with Mrs. Ophelia McCraw. Jerold Longshore of Charlotte spent last week with Mr. and Mrs. Jim ood. Jerold is Mrs. Woods’ brother. Mr. and Mrs. Furman Whelchel and sons visited Mrs. Bonnie Ellis and Jerry over the weekend. Sue McCraw, Mrs. Emma Atkinson and Mrs. Bonnie Ellis visited Huntley Atkinson last week. Huntley remains a patient in a Charlotte Hospital. He wishes to thank everyone for their prayes and cards. Recent visitors of Mr. John Potter and Ruth have been Mr. and Mrs. Albert Potter, Mrs. Vivian Greene of Gaffney and Mrs. Myrtle Ruppe and grandchildren. Debbie and Cindy Angle were overnight guests Saturday of Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Lytle. They attended services at Lavonia Sunday. Recent visitors of Mr. Madison McCraw and sisters have been Patti Matheney of Norcross, Ga. , Mr. and Mrs. Henry Harris, Wilma and Georgia and J.Y. Mccraw, Terry Dover, Nancy Matheney of Shelby, Mrs. Ophelia McCraw, Charles Bolton of Cherokee Falls and Katherine Ruppe. Mr. and Mrs,^ Garmon Barnes have reurned from several weeks vacation at the East Coast. Sunday they attended the Barnes reunion at Cliffside Park. Saturday night Mr. and Mrs. Barnes visited her sister, Mrs. Ruth Dayberry and husband. Mr. and Mrs. Scott Burleson were Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Elwyn McCraw. Mr. and Mrs. Burleson spent Saturday night with J.O. Hollifield in Kennersville. Mrs. Fannie Horton of Gaffney was Saturday night supper guest of Miss Perl McCraw and Mrs. Kaherine Ruppe. Mr. and Mrs. Ronnie Splawn and children of Tenn. spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Earnest McCraw. Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Kirk Humphries were Mr. and Mrs. J.M. Bartee of Boiling Springs. Other visitors were Mr. and Mrs. Charlie McCraw of Spartanburg and Mrs. Doris, Matheney and granddaughter, Jennifer, of Mt. Vernon. Miss Myra DaVis spent last week at Myrtle Beach. Miss Lisa Webb returned Sunday from Wilmington where she spent a week with her grandparents. Community sympathy is extended to Mrs. Ina Mae McCraw in the death of her sister, mrs. Ramoth Jones of Gaffney. Visitors in the home of Mr. and Mrs. McCraw have been Mr. and Mrs. Herman McCraw and family of Polkville, Mrs. judy Hugg and children of Greenville, Mrs. Billy Sugg and son, and Mrs. Bill Kirkland and daughter of Goldsboro. Mrs. Julia McSwain was a Tuesday evening guest of Mr. and Mrs. Winford Ruppe in Gaffney. Mrs. McSwain was a Wednesday dinner guest of Mr. and Mrs. Gene Bridges in Mooresboro. Mr. Charlie Daves is a paient in Cleveland Memorial Hospital in Shelby. Mrs. Blane Whisnant, Mrs. Glenn Moore, Mr. M.A. Mosley, Bud McSwain, Todd Greene and Mrs. Glenn Sarratt are patients in Crawley Memorial Hospital at this writing. Prospect Community by Mrs. Broadus McGinnis Rev. John Godfrey of Cooper’s Gap ate dinner Tuesday with his mother, Mrs. Clara Godfrey, Mrs. Opal Johnson of Belmont ate dinner Wed nesday with her mother, Mrs. Clara Godfrey. Other visitors were Mr. and Mrs. Tommie Jolley, Mrs. Terry Smith and Wesley of Six Points and Mrs. Lois Beason of Cliffside. Mrs. Mary Potter was a Sunday dinner guest of Mrs. Frances Dellinger in Cherokee County. Rhonda Price spent Friday night and Saturday with Denise Thrift in Cliffside. Johnnie Ray Bartee of Flat Rock was a dinner guest of Mr. and Mrs. Kirk Humphries and Mrs. J.A. Bartee on Monday. Mr. and Mrs. Ronnie Jolley and children of Durham and Mr. and Mrs. Ricky Jolley of Chicago, 111. visited mr. and Mrs. Roger jolley and children at Myrtle Beach while here. Mr. and Mrs. R.D. Jolley spent the weekend at Myrtle Beach. Mr. and Mrs. Olen Scruggs of Orange Park, Fla. spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Mason Scruggs. Shannon Mosteler of Gaffney spent Thursday and Friday with her grandmother, Mrs. Effie Mosteller. Mr. and Mrs. John E. Bryson and Cindy of Spartanburg were Monday guests of Mr. and Mrs. Ira Elmore. Mrs. James Price is recuperating at home after surgery at the General Hospital in Spartanburg, S.C. Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Hutchens of Charlotte spent Saturday night with Mrs. Gazzie Harmon. They with Mr. and Mrs. J.T. Jolley and Mr. and Mrs. Tom Jolley, Mark and Gregg, were Sunday dinner guests of Mrs. Annie Jolley and Louise. The oc casion was in honor of J.T. Jolley and Mrs. Gazzie Harmon whose birthdays were last week. Mrs. Bobby Barnes entered Cleveland Memorial Hospital Monday where she had surgery. She returned home on Friday. Mr. and Mrs.Odus Lee Jr. of Shelby spent Tuesday with Mrs. Thelma Beason. Mr. and Mrs. Burel Harris of Shelby visited Mrs. Selma Harris Friday night. Mr. Richard Skinner was the weekend guest of Mark Whisnant of Six Points. Mrs. Coran Padgett visited Mr. and Mrs. Steve Whitaker and Tammy of Earl this past week. Recent visitors of Mrs. Padgett were Mr. and Mrs. Bill Greene of Mooresville and Mr. and Mrs. Grady Padgett of Spindale. Frances Dobbins spent Sunday at the Oteen Hospital visiting Mr. Everette, Hardin who is a patient there. He is from the Poplar Springs Community. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Long of Greendy, Va. visited Mr. and Mrs. Guy Gillespie and Mr, and Mrs. Harold Bishop on Sunday. Mrs. Sammie Jenkins, Jr., joined Trinity Baptist Church on Sunday morning during the worship service. Miss Wanda Eaker was presented a book of devotionals upon her graduation from Isothermal Community College by the Youth Minister, the Rev. Arthur Yount. The Baptist Women met with Mrs. Kenneth Dobbins on Tuesday morning at her home on Houser’s Lake. Boyd Luckadoo remains a patient at the Charlotte Memorial Hospital and Mrs. Bob Hut chins remains at Rutherford Hospital. Mr. and Mrs. Marion Scruggs and Miss Evelyn ' McCluney spent Saturday and Sunday with Phil Toney Tours in Tennesee at the World’s Fair.
