Their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Pat terson, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Buren Hamrick, their daughter, Teresa, her children Heather and Stephanie were among the guests. A time of fun and fellowship was enjoyed by all at tending. A visit with Joyce, Mike, and Jason States was enjoyed by Garland, Mary Jo, and Hazel Jolley, also Lesley and Wesley Hawkins of Boiling Springs made the trip with their grand parents. They enjoyed the scenery and other attractions on their trip. Janice Bruce, a former Y outh Director at Mt. Pleasant visited with Ranny and Betty Blanton on Wednesday morning. She was enroute to State Road N.C. where she is serving as Youth Director at the Mount Pleasant Baptist Church. An overnight visit was made by Jack and Ruth Dawson to A.Y. and Margie Morgans in Aiken, S.C. on Wednesday and on Thursday the Dawsons’ and Morgans attended graduation for Pam Houser Pridgen at the McLeod Regional Medical Center in Florence, S.C. The Festival at Snoffy Jenkins Music Park on Saturday in Cliff- side was enjoyed by Cloe Wallace. A few days vacationing at Myrtle Beach was a change of pace for Pattie, Chad, and Brad. Ivester and Pattie’s mother Madge Hamrick, at the close of last week. Roger Ivester joined his family on Saturday and returned home with them on Sunday. V acationing at their home on Houser Lake are Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Houser and their daughter, Susie of Lutherville, Maryland. Garry and Maxine Houser of Charlotte visited with his parents at the lake on Sun day. Ethel Ray enjoyed a visit from her grandson, Jeremy Ray and his folks Bobby Dean and Nancy Ray of Mauldin, S.C. on Sun day. A Father’s Day visit was made by Steve, Angelia, Amber and Andy Goode to Mr. and Mrs. Carl Goode, Mr. Frank Griffin of Shelby, and to grandfather, Austin Anthony and Mrs. An thony of Boiling Springs. Mrs. Sheilia White, Drew and Aleisha of Greenville, S.C. and Mrs. Shirley Hamrick of Rock Hill, S.C. visited with their parents Mr. and Mrs. G.O. Humphries on Sunday and at tended Sunday evening services with their sister, Mrs. P.G. Jolley. David Jolley returned home with Mrs. White on Mon day for a visit. Mrs. Sarratt welcomed guests and directed them to the honor couple. Mrs. Bruce Adams opened and displayed gifts, Mrs. Holard D. Blanton in vited guests to the refreshment table which was overlaid with a gold lace cloth and centered with a beautiful arrangement of Bronze and yellow mums. The beautiful anniversary cake had been made by Mrs. Frank Hamrick and was cut and served by Mrs. Ranny Blanton at one end of the table and at the op posite end Miss Kim Blanton served punch. The guests helped themselves to vegetable sand wiches, ham pinwheels, cheese wafers, mints and nuts. Many friends and relatives called bet ween the hours of three to five to congratulate and wish the best for the anniversary couple. Mr. and Mrs. Buren Jolley visited with their daughter, Jen ny Jenkins and her daughter, Angie in Boiling Springs on Sun day afternoon. “Pippins” and “Chop Stick” were present for the Father’s Day Bake-A-Cake Contest on Sunday evening. They are in the Clown Ministry in the resort area of Boone and presented a real good act on Sunday evening. After their presentation the father’s who had baked cakes gave their recipes for their masterpiece. These men were Calvin Dixon, John Hamrick, Bobby Headley, Larry Hicks, Vaughn Houser, P.G. Jolley, Rev. McSwain, and Bob Thomp son. The delicous cakes were cut and served by several ladies. Colas were served also. The lovely flowers in the sanc tuary on Sunday were given by Mr. and Mrs. John Hicks in memory of their fathers, Mr. W.S. Hicks and Mr. A. Bonner Hamrick. A.L. June 24.1983 Trinity Community By Doris Scruggs Flowers placed in church on Sunday morning were given in memory of Kenneth Dobbins by his family honoring him on Father’s Day. Christian sympathy is extend ed to the family of Wake Hamrick. At the close of the morning worship service, Richard Jolley, the music director at Trinity for the past sixteen years resigned. He and family will be moving to Greer, S.C. where Richard is employed at the J.P. Stevens Computer Center. Mr. and Mrs. J.V. Buchannan of Butner spent the weekend with Mrs. Mary Lee Dobbins. Mr. and Mrs. Glynn Harris of Greensboro and Mrs. Ethel Smith of Robbins spent Thurs day through Saturday with Mr. and Mrs. W.E. Smith. While here they visited the families of Steve, Gary and Vaughn Smith. Mr. and Mrs. Forrest Carroll, along with Mrs. Joel Carroll and Jarrett took Jamie to Charlotte on Tuesday and Thursday for a checkup. Miss Cheryl Harris spent last week with friends at Myrtle Beach, S.C. Mrs. Harold Bishop spent the week in Raleigh attending a ^minar. She is employed with the Farmers Home Administra tion. Mr. and Mrs. Guy Gillespie, Mr. and Mrs. Marion Scruggs went with the Phil Toney Tours to the Famous Renfro Valley, Kentucky. While there they went to Berea’s College and went to some of their gift shops and saw some of the arts and crafts made by students who go to Berea College. On the way home they stopped by a dam built by the Tennessee Valley Authority in Norris Tenn. Mrs. Mary Lee Dobbins recently went with the Phil Toney Tours to Daytona Beach, Florida. While there they toured Epcot Center and Disney World. Vacation Bible School under the direction of Mrs. Ed Beason was observed last week with a good enrollment. Closing out vacation Bible School they were part of the joint worship service on Sund^ morning. Mrs. Cathy Moore was honored with a baby shower at the Community Building on Sunday afternoon. Hostess for the occasion were: Mrs. J.V. Buchannan, Mrs. Ed Beason, Mrs. Bill Bostic and Mrs. Betty Cromer. Cathy received many nice and useful gifts. Delicious refreshments consisting of cake, mints and punch were served. The home of Mrs. Joel Carroll was the setting on Monday night for the Trinity Homemakers. Ten members were present. Mrs. Francis Dobbins presented a pro gram on Laundry Problems of the 1980’s. She stressed reading the directions on detergent boxes and ways to prevent lint and picking. Refreshments were serv ed by Mrs. Forrest Carroll, co hostess and Mrs. Joel Carroll.
