perfected by the Hospital Division
■ provide that wounded and sick sol
diers, returned from the American
Expeditionary Force, will be placed
in hospitals located in the section of
the United States from which they
were induced.
These hospitals are so located that
the maximum distance a relative will
have to travel to visit a patient will be
300 miles. The only exception will be
in the cases where injuries require
that they be sent to special hospitals
where facilities for their treatment
have been provided.
The decision of the General Staff to
turn over the base hospitals located
at training camps in this country to
the Surgeon General will give the
Hospital Division a total of 75 hospi
tals with a capacity of 134,231 beds.
These do not include the hospitals lo
cated at the ports of debarkation at
New York and Newport News, which
number 15 with a bed capacity of
22,068.
These hospitals have been located

A collision between a motor ambu
lance and a Ford delivery truck oc
curred Wednesday in the Quarterma.s-
ter Square. Between the speedway
spirit of the ambulance, driven fast
er in view of the emergency nature
of their work, and the carelessness of
the civilians, it is a difficult matter
to say which of the drivers was to
blame.
Both machines were damaged hut
neither of the drivers were injured.
