Twenty more students nurses have arrived at the base hospital during the past week, bringing the total number of new probationers, up to thirty-four. In ready response to a plea for more r.urses to care for the Influx of in fluenza patients at the Presbyterian hospital, in Charlotte, during the early part of the week, nine nurses from the U- S. Army Base Hospital, Camp Greene were sent out for two days of service in the city hospital. The nurses sent to the city by Miss Susan G. Parish, chief nurse, were Misses Rooke, Hopkins, Elmore, Pye, Kellett, Veaze, Murrey, Keeney and Gross. These graduate nurses aided the city hospital force in a way that rendered their services invaluable. The army hospital has been delivered the warmest thanks for the timely as sistance. Volley ball has claimed a share of the attention of the nurses_ at the base hospital and one thrilling con test has been held, under the direction of Physical Dirsctor Bergman. _ Miss Hansbrough captained the winning team, which had taken the name of The Hornets. The score was 21 to 19 after forty minutes of play. Stars of the game were Misses Cressman, Haskins and Nicholas.
