Ausley, a few days last week. Mrs. Henry Mozingo, Sr., returned home Thursday, after spending some time with her mother, who has been ill in Missouri. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Fitzgerald and children of Kinston, spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Fitzgerald. Mrs. Robert Langley of Washing ton, D. C., was the guest of relatives here during the week end. Mr. and Mrs. H. 0. Barbour and son, Roger, were guests of Mrs. Em ma Hawkins a few davs last week. Miss Hazel Boykin of Washington, D. C., Mrs. Ethel Crocker of Smith- field, spent the week end with theiv parents, ,Mr. and Mrs. W. M. Boykin. Mr. and Mrs. Bunyan Creech were guests of relatives in Norfolk, Va., last week. Mrs. Percy Glenn Peacock and children of Kenly, were guests of Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Corbett Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. L. C. Davis and their daughter. Prances Jean, visited rel atives in Wilson’s Mills Sunday af ternoon. Miss Lucile Proctor of the school faculty, attended the funeral of her aunt in Charlotte last week. Mr. and Mrs. Emmett Boykin of Tarboro, were guests of Mrs. Mamie Aycock and family Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. R. M. Mason spent Sunday in Clayton. They were ac companied on their return home by Mrs. Mason’s mother, Mrs. Ray, who is spending the week with them. Saturday evening, Mr. and Mrs. W. L. Wall had as their dinner guests Misses Laura Barnes and Varneda Woodard, of the Glendale school faculty, Mr. and Mrs. Emmett Brown, of Goldsboro. — M — Gene Evans, son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Evans, celebrated his eighth birthday Saturday afternoon at his home, by entertaining a number of his friends. Outdoor games were enjoyed, af ter which gifts were opened and ad mired. Mrs. Evans served strawber ry short cake, ritz and lemonade. M Marriage Announced Mrs. Minnie Bagley announces the marriage of her daughter, Margaret, to Pvt. William Shirley, of Massa chusetts, on May 8th, 1944, in Dillon, South Carolina. We wish for him a speedy recovery. — M — Son Honored At Dinner M Improving Friends are glad to learn that Mrs. Arnold Pittman, who is a pa tient in Johnston County Hospital, is improving. Mr. and Mrs. Jasper Pittman paid honor to their son, Sgt. Ernest Pitt man, of Bedford, Mass., Sunday, who is spending a 10-day furlough at home. Those enjoying dinner with them were Mr. and Mrs. Howard Heath of Raleigh, Mr. and Mrs. Carnell Pitt man and son, Shelton, Mrs. Bryant Hines, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Brown of near Selma, and Lieut. J. L. Pittman, who is spending his furlough with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jimmie Pitt man.
