AROUND the PLANTS
HAZEL JENKINS is one of our reliable
women on the first shift.
She is shown operating one of our new
Dietze & Schell winders in preparation for
the ovem which her husband, Clyde operates.
Hazel has been with the company four years,
and lives at Springwood, taking care of her
three children, and attending The Catawba
Freewill Baptist Church.
LESTER SOLES is a slubber tender on the
first shift at the Adrian Plant. He is married
and has one son. His hobby is working on
cars and fishing. He is a 25 year employee.
DENNIS BALDWIN, Assistant Shipping
Clerk, is really proud of the new conveyor
and automatic strapping system recently in
stalled at Spun Fibers. DENNIS says this new
system is a tremendous help and time saving.
STEVE NORTON is a sales trainee who
spent two weeks working at Maiden Plant.
STEVE is married and lives in Charlotte. He
has two children, KIM, four years old, and
SCOTT, one year old. He is a graduate of the
university of North Carolina at Chapel Hill,
and he served two years in the United States
Marines.
GRADY MURRAY, head laboratory tech-
nican at the Albemarle Plants, keeps a sharp
eye on his Uster equipment to be certain that
the roving checked is all up to standard.
Grady has been employed with American &
Efird twenty-seven years.
