Scholarship Help Asked
We Can’t Stop Here
May we bear in mind friends
that our young people have re
sources that are priceless.
We are receiving gratifying re
ports from the girls given scholar
ships. They have exemplified ini
tiative, sound character and ex
cellent scholastic standards.
We are urging each club presi
dent, each club member and
friends of the Federation Club
Work to please give generously to
the Scholarship Fund.
We Can’t Stop Here!
Without your support the Schol
arships will not be able to con
tinue. Let us ask ourselves these
questions:
Are we doing our share tov/ard
helping some worthy girl to at
tain a college education? Are we
giving freely to the Scholarship
Fund? How may we continue giv
ing aid to deserving girls if the
output exceeds the intake’
We are thanking each of you for
your past support and for the
one hundred per cent support you
are going to bring in at the I960
state meeting.
May God give to you the vision
to see the need of stronger sup
port to the Scholarship Fund.

Committee Reports
On Scholarship
May 15, 1959
The Scholarship Committee held
a brief meeting in one of the
Conference Rooms of the Darden
High School, Wilson, on the morn
ing of May 15. Mrs. Edna B. Tay
lor presided.
There was some discussion of
the scholarship situation which in
cluded a review of the list of per
sons receiving help from the N. C.
Federation of Women’s Clubs and
the report on our financial status.
Due to the fact that money was
not available for continuing the
project, it was agreed that the
committee would discontinue its
aid until such a time when there
were sufficient funds for the pur
pose. That meant that no addition
al names could be added to the
list, at least for the present.

to get acquainted as quickly and
as easily as possible.

President's Report
(Continued from Page 8)
Speaking of an increase in clubs
reminds me that trophies were to
have been awarded to the District
having the greatest increase in
the number of Junior and Senior
clubs. The trophies were withheld
until next year in order that the
competition might be fair. It would
be fine to hold a trophy realizing
that a larger number of girls and
women had been added to our
Federation.
In closing may I wish for each
of you health, happiness and a
wonderful club year.
