To Close
Club Meetings
In the last annual session of the
N. C. Federation of Negro Wom
en’s Clubs it was voted that each
president will use the “Collect
of Club Women of America” to
close all club meetings. It has
been printed here for your con
venience.
COLLECT OF CLUB
WOMEN OF AMERICA
Keep us, O God, from pettiness;
let us be large in thought, in
word,, in deed.
Let .us be done with fault-finding
' and leave off self-seeking.
May we put away all pretense
^ and meet each other face to
face without self pity and with
out prejudice.
May we never be hasty in judg
ment and always generous.
Teach us to put into action oflr
better impulses, straightforweird
and unafraid.
Let us take time for all things,
make us grow calm, serene, and
gentle. '
Grant that we may realize it is
. the little things that , create dif
ferences; that in ^1^ big things
of life we are as one
Anl may we strive to touch eind
to know'the great common wom
an’s heart of us all; and, 0 Lord
God, let'us not forget to be kind.

MEETING
(Continued from Page 6)
of the Southeastern Convention in
Florida and explained the use of
the $92.81 collected for that pur-'
pose. Of the eight states making
up the Southeastern Region North
Carolina ranked lowest in its finan
cial contributions to support the
objectives of the region. N. C. is
as active at home, as any state,
but weak in her affiliations both
regionally and nationally financiM-
ly. The plea is for at least five
dollars from each club annually.
V Special messages from many
members had to be absent. Mrs.
A. B. Byrd, chairman of board
was absent due to illness of her
husband. The President, Mrs. Spell
man, presided.
The hospitality of the host ladies
was highly appreciated.
During the dinner hour the youth
group reported on their actions
and the Senior group summarized
their actions. Comments were
made and agreed upon that will be
more fully kno'wn later. — Editor.
