Page Seven Cof+on Farmers Have Choice of Allotments I Operators of upland cotton fa^ms will have until J^rch 16 to choose between the choice A ami choice B. allotments and price supports for their farms, 0. U Holland, chairman, Duplin ASC committee, said this week. T|iat is the final date for registering the operator’s choice at the county ASC office. The chairman emphasized, how ever, that no election of such a choice can be filed until after the farm operator receives a notice of the price support levels applica ble to the 1959 upland cotton crop under the A and B allotments. That will be soon after the Secretary of Agriculture announces the nation al price support levels for the 1959 upland cotton crop about the end of January. Every cotton^ farm operator, therefore, should be on the look out for a notice from his county ASC office early in February, in forming him of the price support level available for' cotton produc ed on choice A and B allotment farms and stating the deadline fbr filing the operator’s choice in writ ing at the county office. The notice form will have a space where the operator can write his choice of either A or B. If the farm operator elects the choice A farm allotment and com plies with it, his 1959 upland cot ton crop will be eligible for price support at nd: less than 80 per cent of parity. If he elects and complies with the choice B allot ment—which is 40 per cent larger than choice A, his crop will be eli gible for support at a level which is 15 per cent of parity less than choice A. The operator must elect the same choiee for all farms4 whidi be operates. WE SELL USED AUTO parts We BuV: Brass-Copper—Kadlators Bafteries—Scrap Iron and Steel saulter auto salvage CO.
