Plant five inches be neath the soil and when sprouts appear, pull the sprouts up and start other plants. Keep dahlia cut back to two feet. Keep in mind the colors of iris in your border. Blue rhythm is an old one but beautiful. Blue shimmer is a good one to plant with them. Rehobeth is a new blue iris. Yellow iris are very flattering planted near blue larkspur and snaudragons. Some of the names of good yellow ones are: amadine, ballet dancer, cloth of gold, full reward, and orange ban ner. Enjoy the bulb catalogues now. Place orders while you have time to select the desired colors. All of the Holland bulb growers are grad ing the bulbs and sending the price list out. To keep down mildew on roses, dust them with sulphur. Do not dust in extremely hot weather. As the day lilies bloom, trans plant the colors you like better to other locations.
