Uncover and continue boiling,
without stirring, to soft-ball stage

twenty minutes before cutting.
Making your own candy isn’t as-

fun. Teen-agers who might by
chance be reading this column can
stage an impromptu party on short
notice simply by cooking a batch
of candy in one of their own kitch
ens. Oldsters who are still young
at heart ought to get back to the
candy-making routine too.
