Page Six THE NEW BERN MIRROR, NEW BERN, N. C. Friday, July 20, 1962 MIRROR MEDITATION By EMMITT L. BRINSON The study of life throughout the ages always ends with questions that have not been solved. Man has actually succeeded in creating a living cell, yet it will not grow or multply as does the natural cell of life. Life thereby iminates from a source beyond the comprehen sion of the human mind. Man must admit life flows from a source we cannot decipher. A dimension exists into which our material being cannot penetrate. Nor can our minds perceive its power to create. The trials and errors of all pro gress are known only to the infi nite mind of our Creator. Mankind thereby will always be limited to his endowment of anxiety to ex plore. And until God is ready for man’s mind to know such truths, man will remain but a spectator to the cause of human procreation. Man is but an embryo of knowledge not yet born to the consciousness of the invisible universe. I’ve often wondered: Does the Cause or Guide, of the living cell, with the enzimes perfecting their pre-determined form, in their cre ation of our biological design, con stitute the arrival and the charge of the soul? The entity that is God’s? And as we progress in this life does the mind or thought we accept as our own continue to have contact with the universal mind, that is God’s? If so, man needs but call on this relationship with the Creator to perform his will. He could receive the direct will of God and manifest it into a power that could perform anything — even the miraculous. Was this the revelations of a higher intelligence that revealed the ideals, the ideas and forms of progress to the great minds of history that led mankind to his present destiny? Was this the source of knowledge revealed through concentrated thought, and admitted to, by most of our great inventors and scientists? The Looking Glass- Yes, I believe it was. And it is to this end that one must believe that the soul is not just another organ of man, but the control of all other organism. It is not just his mind — but the master of his mind and thoughts. Man needs but call upon this entity with the Su preme Mind to enter into the light of all truths. I Wonder! 1. Roses Are Red — Bobby 'Hin ton. 2. The Wah-Watus — Orlons. 3. The corporation — publicly owned, set price tags ranging from $200 to $300. The decision to dispose of the cars in this manner was a last resort, after officials of Buenos Aires tried in vain to sell them to smaller municipalities and private utilities in other sections of Ar gentina. Crotalaria Still Problems on Farms in East North Carolina Crotalaria is still a problem and one that the farmers of North Car olina cannot afford to forget, warns W. E. Lane, head of the grain section of the North Caro lina Department of Agriculture’s marketing division. “There will be no market for corn and soybeans containing cro talaria seed at harvest time this fall,’’ he said. “Therefore, farmers should rid their fields of the plant now, before it goes to seed, else they run the risk of having their grain turned back at the market place.” “In the administration of state food and feed laws the North Caro lina Department will be equally strict.” BOY, 10, SETS FIRE “The crotalaria plants can now be readily identified in corn and soybean fields, and farmers should go through the fields and pull them up and destroy them long before harvest time. If they are not sure whether a field contains crotalaria, their county agent or agricultural teacher will help in its identification.” Crotalaria seed has in recent years been found to be highly toxic to livestock, poultry and humans and there are strict state and fed eral laws against the sale of food or food grains containing crota laria seed. “Where federal officials find persons in violation, the grain will be embargoed and heavy penalties will be forthcoming,” Lane said.
